Mr. Bob Betke, a vice president of F. Curtis Barry & Company for over 13 years, holds a degree in industrial engineering. Bob has 30+ years experience in strategic and business planning; project management; design and operation of fulfillment and distribution centers, as well as manufacturing and retailing.
Mr. Betke focuses on logistics and distribution systems, facilities, processes, third party fulfillment search and selection, and assists clients in project design and management. He conducts layout and space utilization studies as well as productivity systems improvement as part of the Operations Assessment service provided by F. Curtis Barry & Company. With a “planned and structured approach” that addresses the individual circumstances and differences of each project, he helps clients to first define and then achieve their desired results.
Mr. Betke has overseen the design of both new and existing facilities; performed productivity and space utilization improvement studies, created long-range site and facility plans; conducted operational audits and work flow improvement analysis; directed outsource fulfillment placement; designed warehouse and distribution systems and processes; assisted in the development of strategic fulfillment and distribution strategies; and guided the selection and implementation of Warehouse Management Systems.
Mr. Betke has also performed operational due diligence assignments for potential mergers and acquisitions of multi-channel companies.
Prior to his consulting career, he was a practitioner in the field, operating small and large warehouses up to a one million-square-foot distribution facility. Mr. Betke’s technical knowledge and practical experience, coupled with his years as a consultant for companies of all sizes and types, have given him an invaluable perspective, which enables him to develop practical solutions to complex problems. He has worked with fulfillment and distribution centers ranging in size from 20,000 square feet to over 1 million square feet including both conventional and automated facilities. The combination of hands on experience with a consulting background brings a practical and team oriented approach to any project. Using a collaborative and common sense approach to address operations issues and problems, he has assisted hundreds of clients achieve their goals of improved cost and service levels. |
